Oregon State Fair!

We took James to his very first fair today! Well, unless you count the Scandinavian festival, which I don't since it was different than a state fair. James loved the animals and I think he did very well after 4 days of travel.. he was very pleasant for the most of the trip! We went with James's grandpa who were were visiting on our way back from Mt. Rainier. Since Salem (where the state fair is held) is on the way back home, we thought it would be a nice way to get out of the car and let James see some livestock that he's never seen before. We weren't disappointed!
My dad and I checking out the map

James meeting a goat for the first time! It was talking to him.

Cool like daddy.

Snack time!

Gotta support the Oregon Dairy Women!

Even James had some ice cream.

James making his escape.

Some fun cakes that were entered in the fair.

We got some lottery ticket numbers when we entered, and we had number 13, which was one of the lucky ones for the day... so Eliot got put in this tube and had to grab as many dollars as he could in 20 seconds.

As you can see, the wind didn't make it easy.

Eliot's strategy of stuffing them in his shirt helped I think!

Total count? 37! Which is equal to 5 free powerball tickets. Now we have to figure out how to use them...
All in all, not a bad day at the fair!
