James is 16 weeks old!!

James is 16 weeks old as of yesterday! New developments include:

Sleeping 2 5-hour stretches most nights
Reaching for and grasping toys, especially ones that make sounds
Getting closer to rolling over back to tummy
Almost laughing (he's been giggling for awhile but now it seems to be turning into laughter once in awhile)

We've been busy this week... Eliot's writing his dissertation and I have been trying to work on James's scrapbooks. We also had to say farewell (for now) to our kitty and find him a new home as he's been hard to take care of while trying to take care of James as well. The cat just wasn't getting any attention and was acting out because of it. We felt it was best for our family to send him to Grandma's house on a trial basis... so far so good. We are happier, and I think he is too.

James has been doing better in the sleep arena, sometimes sleeping two 5-hour stretches (usually with a bit of coaxing to get him back to sleep, though, so not entirely restful for us!).

Yesterday we went up to Portland to celebrate my Pappy's 90th birthday and my grandma's 89th birthday. We had a great time, and it was lovely to see everyone.
