Reading Advent

This year I decided to start a new Advent tradition in our family that encourages reading and the love of books. With the help of Mimi Helen, we've managed to scrape together almost enough Christmas books for all 24 days leading up to Christmas. Then they were wrapped and numbered, and each night before we go to bed, James gets to open a new book and we read it together. Not only does it foster a love of reading, but it's giving him plenty of present-opening practice!

Here is a short video of him opening his book last night:

James has also been entertaining us with some Christmas carols (James-style) on the piano. He loves pushing down the keys (probably because he's in his "button" stage).

I also just love this picture. He was eating Cutie clementines, and we stuck the sticker on his head that says "Perfect pocket fruit."

And while I was making cookie dough, I rolled it out in the shape of Ireland by chance (maybe because Eliot was playing some Irish tunes):

As always, there are more pictures in the "17 months" folder to the right. :-)
