Our little one is 11 weeks today! I overdid it yesterday with am 8-hour choir rehearsal and a long drive back to Springfield, so I am completely exhausted today to the point of not wanting to get off the couch. It's ok, though, since I don't have anything planned for today besides relaxing!
I have been feeling lots of what I think is round ligament pain from the uterus stretching... when I move too suddenly or stretch my legs out while lying down I get an uncomfortable pulling sensation and I have to curl back up. It's not crippling and from what I read it's completely normal, so I am not worried. I'll mention it to my OB doc on the 4th of December when I have my next appt.
Here is what will be happening this week:
Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.
